“What are you barking at now?”
He waited for a response—a pause, a look, but…nothing.
When the dog curled its lip, growled, and postured, ready to maul something, the man rose from his chair to have a look. Very strange for Francis to become some aggressive, but it wouldn’t have surprised him if it wasn’t anything at all.
“What is it this time,” he grumbled while walking down the hall, “a picture, some cobwebs, several loose ends of fabric being blown by the fan?”
He turned the corner, “That’s you in the mirror!”
